Considerations about software

MiraMon needs an operating system Microsoft: Windows 9x/ Millenium Edition/ NT/ 2000/ XP/ 2003 Server/ Vista/ 7/ 8. Command line applications (sometimes called console applications) used to do the most complex analyses and massive import/export processes in MiraMon (the so called "MiraMon Support Modules" or MSA, covered later in this manual) need a DOS box under Windows or an "Command prompt" in Windows.

MiraMon can also run under free code platforms in virtualized Windows environment.

MiraMon works with both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems, and offers the most important features in 64 bits as far as memory needs. In addition, and unlike other software, the code is parallelized to use multiple processors simultaneously, which entails huge reductions in the run time of those modules in which there is a high amount of computing.

In order to be able to access tables in non DBF formats it is necessary to have the access libraries installed with a 32-bit or 64-bit ODBC, depending on the operating system versions. If you have installed Office, normally the libraries will already be installed.

For optimum performance you must have updated drivers for your graphic board and version of MS-Windows and configured to show at least 32000 colors simultaneously.
