    • MiraMon is the desktop GIS in all DMA (Central Services, Territorial Delegations, etc).
    • The MMZ format is used to publish cartography in Internet; this implementation win the special mention of the 8 Möbius International Award, in Paris, to the best application in Science and Technology in Internet in the year 2000 (http://www.gencat.es/mediamb/sig/premimobius.htm).
    • More than 270 bases of information in May 2001, and more are continuously added to http://www.gencat.es/mediamb/sig. It is distributed at no cost in MMZ format in Internet. · Organization of the GIS of the General Direction of Natural Patrimony.
  2. Maps of weather alert (Risk Meteorological situations) published daily in the web page of the Catalonia Weather Service. They are generated
    automatically with MiraMon. They are freely accessible in the Internet.

  3. Water Catalan Agency (ACA)

    • The ACA chose MiraMon as its GIS after evaluate several alternatives.
    • System of monitoring of stations and control of water in real time.
    • Remote Sensing: Adquisition and geometric and radiometric process of all Landsat images acquired over Catalonia during 2002.

    • Involved participants: Natural Park of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone, Cartographic Institute of Catalonia, Department of the Environment and the Center for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications.

    • GPS navigation in real time allowing to show and determine the position on the maps.

    • Publication of the 70 sheets of the new Digital Climatic Atlas of Catalonia. maximum, minimum, and average air temperatures; precipitation; solar radiation. It's distributed at no cost in MMZ format in the Internet.
    • It will be published soon in CD-ROM thanks to the support of the Catalonian Weather Service

    • The European Commission has the European Agency of Environment subdivided in topic centers.
    • The Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona has the European Topic Center on Terrestrial Environment (ETCTE), also devoted to coasts. ·
      Generation of the new CORINE 2000 based on satellite present images.
    • The ETCTE uses MiraMon for several tasks.
