The GeoJSON format has become an official standard under the umbrella of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).
It is a vectorial standard without topological structure that supports these kind of objects: Point, LineString, MultiPoint, Polygon, MultiLineString, MultiPolygon, and GeometryCollection. The objects may have n no geometrical attributes but only one geometry and the coordinates must be in WGS84 long/lat.
The new standard is supported by the MiraMon since before its officiality.
